POLLINATOR PROTECTION

POLLINATOR PROTECTION

This project aims to explore the creative possibilities of hand drawn typography. Typography can completely control the narrative we are trying to convey through our work. It is its own form of creative communication. I decided to dip my toe into the world of typography and create pieces using my own hand drawn lettering. Pollinator extinction is a subject I feel strongly about so I felt it was the perfect opportunity to tell a story.

The first poster uses a more eye catching, bold, and whimsical font. It is comprised primarily of my own photography as well. I tried to keep my phrases short and sweet to allow the typography to shine. I wanted to create something that feels warm and inviting to draw in viewers, especially when dealing with a more somber subject matter.

My second piece uses typography that I felt mimicked the trail of a butterfly soaring through the sky. I wanted it to have a simillar feel to the first piece but do so in its own unique way.
